Nottingham IndymediaThe Nottingham Independent Media Centre (IMC) is a collective committed to offering grassroots and local non-corporate news coverage. It aims to generate a fresh perspective on mainstream media-twisted stories and give a voice (through open self publishing) to individuals and communities throughout the region who are marginalised.
ACASAcas (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) is the non departmental government body which aims to improve employment relations. It provides much valuable guidance and codes of practice, much available online, as well as the well known concilliation service often in the news at times of high profile disputes.
European Trade Union Institute A wealth of interesting and useful information about Trade Union issues and law Europe wide. ETUI also publish HesaMag, largely about Health and Sadety issues, but with interesting angles and nice photos!
Labour Research Department The Labour Research Department has existed since 1912 to support the work of the Labour, Socialist, and Co-operative movements. It provides very valuable resources the trade union movement, and our branch is a sponsor.
NHS History A very substantial 'online book' covering the history of the NHS since its inception.
COHSE-union blog A web site dedicated to the study of The Confederation Of Health Service Employees (COHSE) and National Asylum Workers Union (NAWU), National Union of County Officers (NUCO)including the Guild of Nurses. The site also notes the positive role COHSE, NUPE & NALGO Nurses played in the formation of UNISON Nursing Sector, the premier nursing union. (NB: like most 'blog' sites, you may not be able to acces this from a Trust network PC).
38 Degrees An online community of over 1 million members who decide which issues to campaign together on. They are doing a lot of campaigning around defending the NHS at present, and are forming local groups around CCG catchment areas.
